Where We Came From, and Where We’re Headed
Our Heritage
International Bible College is a ministry of the International Baptist Church. The ministry was founded in 1976 by Dr. John Morgan in a small Brooklyn apartment. One year later, the church purchased a 100-seat church building with adjoining property in Brooklyn’s Windsor Terrace community and began the ministry of International Christian School with 33 students.
In 1992, the ministry purchased a second church campus on Long Island in Stony Brook, New York with eventual plans to open a Bible college. “One church in two locations” became the theme of International Baptist Church. 1999 brought about the purchase of a new Brooklyn location campus at 312 Coney Island Avenue. This purchase allowed the Brooklyn ministry to consolidate and spurred a period of strong growth for both the church and school.
In his first year in New York City, Pastor Morgan had a vision for training men and women to reach the Northeast for Jesus Christ. In 2002, that vision became a reality with the founding of International Bible College. Today, Dr. Morgan still has that same vision for the northeast. His desire is to see the ministry of International Bible College start 1,000 Baptist churches. He claims Isaiah 60:22, “A little one shall become a thousand” for his vision, which is already underway as the International Bible College helps birth new churches!
Our Future
In 2002, International Bible College began on the 12-acre Stony Brook campus. Graduates now serve in foreign countries and around the United States in various ministries.
In 2008, the International Baptist Church called Ray Cazis to become the new pastor. In 2011 Pastor Cazis was announced as the new college president and began casting the vision for the future. With one of the most dynamic and challenging preaching ministries in the nation, and a burden for the New York area, Ray Cazis is guiding International Baptist Church and Bible College to a great future that glorifies the Lord in all aspects of ministry. With visitors in our church services nearly every week and new students arriving every semester, not only does the vision continue, but it continues to grow in great and mighty ways!
